Dry goods ready for packing.

Old curtains down and replaced with fabric purchased the last day we can access non-essential merchandise.

It’s just four weeks until our expected departure….anxiety fills our days as we work through our various projects preparing the house, the boat and ourselves.

Relying on others, their schedules and restrictions during a pandemic, adds to our busy days and sleepless nights.

A rattle in our radar dome set us back but Raymarine is being very cooperative….we just wait.

Waiting for the granny bars (mast pulpit), designed by us but not yet manufactured and still to be installed.

Various projects on the list for Wiggers, but Robert is so easy to work with and seems to understand our needs and our plan.

A very understanding diesel mechanic, who has worked with us through 3 date changes, will overhaul the engine just 5 days before departure. Are we safe to anticipate no issues?

Second dose of vaccines? Two weeks to wait before the Region of Waterloo can assist in obtaining these somewhere along the way.

New batteries still to be purchased and installed, bottom to be painted, water filter system to be installed and so much to be packed and loaded…let’s not forget sails, rigging etc.

These are all just tasks…the list seems to grow daily…but the real anxiety now is the journey itself. It will bring adventures like we’ve never experienced before….that is why we are doing this…but at the same time, my heart tightens when I envision Seabiscuit heading down the Port Darlington channel, leaving our friends and family and all our comforts behind.
